Diario di una Pallanuotista by Stefano Canesi and Elizabeth Stevenson

A book about (a possible) history of waterpolo

Diario di una pallanuotista

This book tells about the REAL story of waterpolo, but slighlty modified to meet young readers.

in reality, waterpolo has been invented in 1876 on the river Dee, in Scotland, actually by people playing rubgy in the water. A journalist and swimming teacher, William Wilson, observed this sport being played and defined the very first rules of waterpolo as a real sport and game, that became shortly very popular and turning as the first team game to be part of the Olympic program in 1900. But who are those first players, observed by William wilson? nobody knows. This story tries to figure out who these people could be, but mostly aims to tell a story how a simple game can become something more for the life of a group of friends.
