In his book Hugo Houayek, who is a visual artist, addresses poetically the possibilities and power of contemporary painting. Understanding the painting as border act, the book discusses how the pictorial field is continuous and ongoing negotiations with the world to be defined. Consequently to enlarge its territory painting must confront the world and this confrontation perceived as falling, paint diluted in the world.
