The Declan Williams Investigation by Philip G Henley

A Colombian cartel expands its operations and takes revenge

The declan williams investigation

Declan Williams is still running large parts of the European drug market, and the stakes have never been more significant. The cartel didn’t stop. Their corrupt police officer must be silenced before he does a deal with the police who arrested him. The police have detained more potentially disloyal members. They must be threatened.
The cartel's actions, relentless grip and violent retribution forced a new investigation. Declan finds himself with newfound authority in the criminal underworld. But danger lurks at every turn.
His beguiling wife, Astrid, is drawn to a Syrian refugee, Razan, trafficked as a refugee but taken in by Astrid.
Declan's new responsibilities force a move from Ibiza to Barcelona. There he must also integrate a new female recruit to build contacts just like the other women in Paris, Zurich, and Madrid.
The Spanish police, in cahoots with their international colleagues from the USA's FBI and the UK's NCA, are desperate to infiltrate the cartel and gather hard evidence. In Barcelona, they send a young officer who resembles Declan’s lost love, someone who Declan has already helped on Ibiza. The police closed the original case against Declan Williams due to a lack of solid evidence.
Declan Williams has new reluctant partners, former enemies, to integrate into his organisation. There are other threats to the cartel’s operation.
From Ibiza to Barcelona, London, LA, and the forests of Colombia, Declan Williams weaves his power and influence. Declan Williams forces some to pay the ultimate price, while sex and money coerce others. Intrigue, betrayal, and danger continue to intertwine.
Be prepared for more seedy, violent action through the shadowy underbelly of crime and deceit in this novel of illegality, power, passion, and peril. Will the police finally get their man?

Other connections were equally illusive when it came to charges. Manchester, Ibiza, or Dublin-based men were named. Liam Quinn and Fearghus Dunne were both now believed to be in Ibiza. The police would need solid evidence for any arrest, let alone an extradition. The pair was known to Manchester’s Police, according to London’s Metropolitan Police, and they were believed to be working for Grace Sawyer. The Criminal Cases Review Commission was investigating her conviction, even though she had a criminal record. Oliver’s client had met her several times. Patten claimed she ran various parts of northern criminal gangs with Liam Quinn and Fearghus Dunne. The claims were made without any solid evidence, other than Patten's disputed statements.
A customs officer was also attempting to negotiate a deal and confirm some evidence regarding Oliver’s client, which included information that the police were previously unaware of. Others were directly or indirectly implicated, and that was before suspicions were raised about other actions. Corroborating evidence was the issue at hand. The main targets of the arresting officers were overseas or had fled there. Oliver was aware that the planned deal could collapse if the provided information failed to convert into concrete evidence. Corroboration was needed.
Consequently, the deal that Henbridge-Carson was negotiating on Patten’s behalf had begun to unravel except for the finance aspect. Bribes, to be blunt, had been paid into bank accounts, not in cash. There was electronic evidence. The prosecution authorities' need to collaborate with their colleagues in Switzerland and elsewhere complicated the situation. The accounts could be traced, but the ownership was much more complicated.
